KOBIL and HOB develop a Solution Enabling the Secure Mobility of Workstations

KOBIL Systems, manufacturer of innovative and highly secure IT solutions in the field of digital identity and HOB Secure Business Connectivity, the company for innovative solutions in the field of remote access, today announced their cooperation in the development and supply of HOB Planet mIDentity. HOB Planet mIDentity allows people to work securely anywhere in the world with highly secure, mobile access to company resources.

The German companies KOBIL and HOB cooperate in the development and supply of HOB Planet mIDentity, making the mobile workstation of the future possible. With the new product, both companies offer a solution that supports modern, mobile working processes and enables highly secure access to company resources from anywhere in the world. HOB Planet mIDentity realizes the cloud concept in a highly secure way. Using the standard technology SSL VPN , HOB Planet mIDentity provides secure and mobile access to sensitive data.

Nevertheless, the handling remains quite simple. The user simply inserts HOB Planet mIDentity into the USB port of any Windows, Mac or Linux computer and gains immediate access to the company intranet, or company "cloud," without having to install any software or drivers on the client.

KOBIL's mIDentity is a no-install smart card reader with encrypted memory in a USB product format, guaranteeing a highly secure and simple communication while preventing access of third parties. Thus, the hardware characteristic of mIDentity offers global mobility and permanent security for a digital identity. HOB provides its expertise in remote access clients and server infrastructures. The products of both companies support Zero-Footprint, i.e., they work without installation. Both technologies are patented and are based on BSI-certified technology.
